Purchasing and running a franchise requires special types of business funding. This type of financing starts with securing the money needed to purchase a franchise as well as upfront fees, real estate, equipment and working capital. For some aspiring business owners, getting funding for a franchise can be easier than starting a business on your own because they follow an established brand and proven business mode.

Propco and opco are industry terms for two different legal entities within a franchise business. “Propco” (property company) owns the physical real estate and leases it back to the “opco” (operating company) that runs the day-to-day business of the franchise. This arrangement can optimize taxes and protect assets.

Nearly every type! The most popular sectors are quick service (QSR) restaurants, early childhood centers, fitness facilities, home and retail services, automotive services and convenience stores.
