Recently, public information was released about a criminal group who has stolen 1.2 billion Internet user names and passwords as well as over 500 million email addresses from approximately 420,000 websites. Initial reports indicate that this was a broad scale operation, ranging from household names to small Internet sites, and that financial institutions were not the target of this crime.
