Associated Bank works closely with the United States government, as well as private insurance companies, in an effort to offer export credit facilities instrumental to the competitiveness of businesses engaged in international trade.
Through the use of Export Working Capital programs made available by the Export-Import Bank of the United States and Small Business Administration, Associated Bank can offer the Pre-export financing needed to prepare and ship an export order when the exporter’s credit situation requires it. Short-term financing, usually defined as not exceeding 180 days, but available up to 360 days for capital goods, can be accomplished through the use of Banker’s Acceptances or Export Credit Insurance. Lenders will typically subtract a company’s foreign receivables from the borrowing base when determining the amount of money they are willing to lend. By insuring these receivables through programs provided by the Export-Import Bank or private insurers, companies enhance their ability to finance such receivables.
Medium-term financing, generally ranging from 181 days up to 5 years, is also available through Associated Bank in conjunction with Direct Loans, Guarantees and Insurance programs.
