Personal and Family Benefits

Full-time and part-time employees are eligible to participate in the benefits listed in the following chart, unless otherwise specified. Coverage generally begins on the first day of the month after you have completed 30 days of employment.
  • A full-time employee: scheduled to work at least 36 hours a week.
  • A part-time employee: scheduled to work at least 20 hours but less than 35.9 hours a week.

Medical Care
Medical coverage is undeniably a necessity today, especially with the escalating cost of health care. Without coverage, a single hospital visit could set you back financially for many years. With the Associated's Health Care Plan, you choose the coverage that makes sense for you and your family. You also choose how much you want to pay out-of-pocket based on your personal needs and priorities. Premiums are taken on a pretax basis providing tax savings.

On-site Health Risk Assessment
To be eligible to enroll in medical coverage, participation in a confidential, on-site Health Risk Assessment is required. The assessment provides an analysis of your health risks based on lifestyle information, health history and physical data gathered at the time of the assessment with a nurse. The annual assessment provides you a chance to track your progress and learn more about ways to achieve good health.

Dental Care
As is the case with medical care, dental care can be costly, especially if you must have extensive treatment such as bridgework, wisdom teeth extraction or root canal surgery. Again, you are offered a choice of plans to select what is best for you and your dental premium is deducted from each paycheck on a before-tax basis.

Vision Care
The voluntary vision care plan provides a range of benefits with low out-of-pocket costs and deductibles for eye exams, lenses (for either glasses or contacts) every 12 months, frames for glasses every 24 months, and possible discounts on Lasik surgery.

Retirement Plans: 401(k), and Pension
Associated Banc-Corp's Retirement Program is a significant part of your total compensation and benefit package that will help build long-term financial security.

The 401(k) Plan provides you with the opportunity to defer up to the IRS allowable limit. You may contribute up to the maximum amount per year in before-tax savings. Associated Banc-Corp currently makes an annual matching contribution of 100% of the first 3% of your salary that you defer and 50% on the next 3% that you defer.

Various investment choices are available for the 401(k) so you can design an investment portfolio that meets your needs.

Associated makes an annual benefit credit equal to 5% of your pay to your Pension Plan. Your account balance is credited with interest at a minimum rate of 4%, with the potential that it can be more. The plan provides a monthly lifetime income with inflation protection, or a lump-sum distribution.

Basic Life, AD&D and Supplemental Life Insurance
You will receive 2x your annual basic earnings in both Basic Life and AD&D at no cost to you. Voluntary Supplemental Life and Voluntary Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance is available to you to purchase additional coverage for yourself, your spouse and eligible dependents.

Short and Long Term Disability
In the event of a covered off-the-job accident or illness, our short-term disability plan provides you with partial replacement income options of up to three months. Premiums are paid through after-tax payroll deductions so that 100% of any benefit paid is tax-free.

If you're a full-time or part-time associate and your disability extends beyond a 90-day disability period, you may be eligible to receive Long-Term Disability benefits, which would provide you with partial income replacement until you recover or retire from Associated. You and the company share the premium for Long-Term Disability coverage. You have the option of paying your portion of the premium on a pre or post-tax basis.

Flexible Spending Accounts: Health & Dependant Care
Associated offers you annual participation in several Flexible Spending Accounts. The Health Care Reimbursement account gives you the opportunity to pay non-covered health care expenses, for you and your dependents, with before-tax dollars. You choose the amount that is automatically deducted from your paycheck, before Social Security, Federal and most state income taxes are determined. This money is then placed in an account to reimburse you tax-free for qualified health care expenses incurred during the year.

In addition, Associated also has a Dependent Care flexible spending account. The care of dependent children or parents may represent a significant expense for you. To help, Associated has created a program allowing you to pay for dependent care with before-tax dollars, so you can save money spent on taxes.

LifeWorks Employee Assistant Program
Since no one is immune to the stresses of everyday life, it is reasonable to expect that every associate, at one time or another could benefit from looking at their situation from a different perspective through the assistance of a professional. Associated Banc-Corp cares about you and your family and wants you to have every opportunity to seek and get the assistance you need to cope with any issues you may be facing.

Through the LifeWorks program, Associated offers a variety of services for associates and their families.

LifeWorks is designed to deal with a broad range of problems such as alcohol abuse, drug abuse, depression, worries, marital discord, family issues, finance issues, legal and other personal problems. The EAP includes a limited number of counseling sessions annually and is paid for by Associated. The program is voluntary and completely confidential.

The LifeWorks program also offers support for everyday issues that may impact you and your family. Information is available online, in books, CD's, tapes and other educational materials that are available at no charge to you. It covers topics like:

  • Information on child birth to child care
  • Tips on raising children - from toddlers to teenagers
  • Day care, day camp and college locators
  • Elder care and elder care locators
  • A wide variety of health & wellness, life transitions, financial and every-day issues information
